WPIAL Releases 2023 Boys’ Tennis Team Championships Brackets

Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) has announced its brackets for the WPIAL/UPMC Sports Medicine Boys’ Tennis Team Championships, with championship matches set to be held on Wednesday, May 10 at the Janet L. Swanson Center on the campus of Washington & Jefferson College.
Teams qualify for the postseason by finishing in the top four of their respective 3A section or top three of their respective 2A section. Postseason competition begins on Monday, May 1 with first round matches in the 3A classification.
In 3A, Fox Chapel (6-0), Gateway (5-0), North Allegheny (6-0), and Upper St. Clair (6-0) claimed section championships. The 2A section winners were North Catholic (6-0), Quaker Valley (6-0), Sewickley Academy (5-1), South Park (6-0), and Valley (6-0).
The top two teams in 3A and top four teams in 2A will earn qualification into the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Boys’ Tennis Team Championships, which are set to begin Tuesday, May 16 and conclude on May 19-20 at the Hershey Racquet Club.
