WPIAL Boys’ Tennis Team Champions
The Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) has crowned team champions in boys’ tennis since 1938. The 2023 season marks the WPIAL’s 86th year of competition in the sport, and saw Gateway (3A) and Sewickley Academy (2A) capture the WPIAL boys’ tennis team championships.
Seven different schools have won five or more WPIAL boys’ tennis team titles, with Sewickley Academy’s 24 being the most in league history. The other schools who have five or more are: Mt. Lebanon (18), Upper St. Clair (16), Edgewood (9), Shady Side Academy (8), Fox Chapel (5), and Greater Latrobe (5).
A full list of team champions by year and classification can be found below. There was no tournament held in 1943 and 1944, and the 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
