WPIAL Field Hockey Championship Brackets Released

Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) announced its Field Hockey brackets on Friday afternoon, with 11 teams qualifying across the three classifications.

Each classification’s championship game is tentatively scheduled to be played at Washington & Jefferson College on Oct. 30. The winner of each classification will advance to the PIAA Championship bracket.

3A FIELD HOCKEY 

Start Date: Tuesday, October 26
Championship Date: Saturday, October 30 at 7:00 PM – Washington & Jefferson College
Qualifying Teams: #1 Pine-Richland (12-0), #2 North Allegheny (8-4), #3 Hempfield Area (8-4), #4 Peters Township (8-4)
2020 Final: Pine-Richland 3, Peters Township 0

2A FIELD HOCKEY 

Start Date: Tuesday, October 26
Championship Date: Saturday, October 30 at 5:00 PM – Washington & Jefferson College
Qualifying Teams: #1 Penn-Trafford (8-0), #2 Fox Chapel (6-2), #3 Upper St. Clair (3-5), #4 Greater Latrobe (2-6)
2020 Final: Penn-Trafford 2, Fox Chapel 1

1A FIELD HOCKEY

Start Date: Tuesday, October 26
Championship Date: Saturday, October 30 at 3:00 PM – Washington & Jefferson College
Qualifying Teams: #1 Shady Side Academy (8-0), #2 Aquinas Academy (5-4), #3 The Ellis School (2-7)
