Established in 2021 as part of the WPIAL & Pittsburgh City League Food Drive in partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, the Community Champion award is bestowed upon the schools that tabulate the most “meals” (total between money donated and food collected) in each of the six divisions, which are determined on enrollment. Community Champions are recognized at the annual WPIAL Sportsmanship Summit.
