Registration, Sponsorship Now Open for 2023 WPIAL Scholarship Fund Golf Outing

Pittsburgh, Pa. – Registration is now open and sponsorship opportunities are available for the second annual Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) Scholarship Fund Golf Outing, which will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon.

Registration is open through Friday, June 9. The price per golfer is $125 ($500 for a foursome) and that includes 18 holes, the cart, breakfast, practice facility, loaded goodie bag, buffet dinner following completion, and refreshments on the golf course. There will also be silent auction items available to be bid on. Last year’s silent auction items included golf foursomes to 16 different local courses, Pittsburgh Steelers tickets, as well as autographed memorabilia from former and current players on the Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Pittsburgh Pirates.

Sponsorship opportunities are open through Friday, May 19. Sponsorship packages include the following: Title Sponsor, Presenting Sponsor, Water Battle Sponsor, Golf Ball Sponsor, Koozie Sponsor, Putting Contest Sponsor, Master’s / Super Bowl / Pebble Beach / British Open Experience Hole-In-One Sponsor, Small Business Sponsor, and Hole Sign Sponsor.

The inaugural event held in June 2022 proved to be a major success, helping raise $40,000 for the WPIAL Scholarship Fund. The WPIAL Scholarship Fund was created to award scholarships annually to student-athletes from schools and school districts comprising Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) District VII. Since 1992, the league has given $698,000 in scholarships to its WPIAL/James Collins Scholar-Athlete Award recipients, and celebrates its 32nd consecutive year of the award program in 2023.
