Canonsburg, Pa. – The Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) held its 26th annual WPIAL Rifle Individual Championships on Thursday at Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen’s Club in Canonsburg, with 82 student-athletes from 19 different schools competing. McGuffey junior Riley Dunn emerged as the champion for the second straight year, posting a score of 200-19x with five center targets.
Dunn becomes the third student-athlete to win multiple WPIAL rifle individual championships, joining Avella’s Rob Gagliani (2007, 2008, 2009) and Waynesburg Central’s Selena Phillips (2018, 2019). Last year, she became the fifth different rifle individual champion from McGuffey, alongside Rebekah Ashbrook (2008), John Hupp (2011), West Lauff (2005), and Joe Nuzum (2006).
